Just thought i'd leave this here!

http://www.daevaofwar.net/index.php?/topic/1993-official-122-dat-mining-thread/page__pid__11009#entry11009Balon The Grey

If you haven't seen it yet http://mozk-tabetai.com/ has the new gear in their DB and has more details than on the DAT mine link. (they mention it at the current end of the thread but I figured I'd link it for those who didn't see it or haven't used Mozk.)

Due to the emergency maintenance, I had time on my hands to do some reading, drinking, and what-not. *because, I am definitely an insomniac and probably a drunk* I noticed there is the other thread about hamlets and I figured it would be better to kill time rambling on here, speaking generally about the patch, then throw a few specific thoughts in the hamlet thread.

I noticed was the lack of Gryphonskin (leatherworker) or Vanya (weaver) gear being implemented in this patch; I assumed that there was some connection with the implementation of only Grid's Hamlet being implemented, but nothing seems to be related to that notion as far as recipes go… Something else maybe? Mozk has the High-difficulty mats for these 2 sets (i.e. Flawless Vanya Silk Hat Lining, Flawless Gryphonskin Shoulder Guards, etc. as well as their NQ counterparts), so maybe they just didn't have time to implement them and it's completely unrelated… Just thought it was weird to only include the Heavy Darksteel equipment when the components for the rest are already there.

Personally, I think the meldable nature of the gear alone would make these some pretty strong pieces (that wouldn't depend as heavily on multiple melds to be useful, due to their innate stats being decent) and bridge some of the gap between classes and jobs for situations where having the versatility of a class could be useful. (low-man AV/CC/DH, the new hamlet stuff, etc.)

Likewise… I have only read about Militia leg and head equipment being implemented; which seems more directly related to a hamlet's region. (putting aside Militia tools, accessories, and miscellany which don't seem like they will be localized.)

As far as the Militia equipment is concerned, I'm assuming SE is taking an approach similar to how the initial Abyssean gear (in FFXI) was implemented; certain pieces came from certain zones and were attainable regardless of allegiance. They don't appear to be crafted or come from any GC. That could be one of they ways they intend on rewarding people for contributing, participating, and so forth in the different hamlets. (i.e. Militia gear: Grd for legs/head, Uld for body, and Lim for feet/hands, hypothetically speaking.)

Maybe the points are how the rewards are attained… 40k Hamlet Points for Militia Subligar, perhaps?

Just thought I'd throw some change in the jar… Maybe others read into it differently.
