Doing some Hamlet defense with a decently experienced PUG right now and thought I would put some of my findings here for everyone to take something from. We are doing Hrystmill so my comments will really only be applicable to that defense as far as I know.

-The center first line archer at the beginning of the fight tends to take the brunt of each wave. It is vital to keep all buffs (protes, SS, regen) on him at all times, especially before the first wave arrives. This isn't always the case, but most of the time he was the first target by each wave.

-WHMs don't really heal or buff anyone else but the NPC archers unless its an emergency. Sounds insane, but it actually works with what else we are doing. This changed toward the end when the WAR was kiting. Once it was safe to do so (few mobs left in the wave) a WHM would help the WAR by throwing a regen or SS on him. WHMs also have to watch each line carefully, as mobs will sometimes jump past the first or second line and go to a deeper one.

-We are doing 1 WAR, 3 WHMs, 2 DoL, and 2 DoH.

-DoL spam attack down, DoH spam attack up (this we knew) BUT, when they get it fast enough so that they are about to overlap, they communicate so they can get a second buff/debuff up and keep the cycle of attack buff or debuff still rolling. Takes a couple of waves for this to happen, but helps a TON. HP down is the second weapon of choice for DoL, and Evasion/Def for DoH.

-DoH have the 4 progress skills equipped so they have the buff ready in 4 turns. This is fast and allows them to add that second buff in 2-3 waves as mentioned above, as well as have the buffs up before the first wave gets to the NPCs.

-DoL and DoH would turn in and then run back to the third line of archers allowing them to take hate off them. Archers pretty much do all the work here, not the WAR.

-3 WHMs job is to keep up every NPC archer. Do this without pulling hate if possible (kinda a duh).

-Everyone has to target the NPC or boss and do the emotes we discussed. /Rally on NPCs, /Laugh on boss.

-I was the WAR (crazy, I know). After learning the fight, this was very fun, and not too hard for me (and I'm a derp WAR). My job was NOT to tank per se. I started the fight in the monkey spawn area. Killed it. Ran to the 1st line and helped DPS mobs, but didn't get the killing blow on any of them so the NPCs got the kills. This is very important. NPCs must kill EVERYTHING in this map, except the Monkey. This means very judicial use of Cyclone, etc. At 20:30 I would run to the tunnel and do as much damage to the Wolf spawn as I could (after which the WHMs would kill it). Once the boss popped I would spam all voke skills on it and then take it to the back where the castle and large tree are. I would kite it around the large tree and not DPS it. This would give everyone else time to take down all the other waves of enemies. once all the waves are dead, a zombie mage pops. I would kite to it, help DPS it, then take the boss back to the archers for them to kill it for the win.

-Toward the end of the fight, when the boss starts giving orders, one of the DoH would switch to Enmity reset. This allowed the hate to drop off the NPC cart guards and archers to regain hate. It was integral to our success to time these as soon as the orders command was given.

What did we get from all this? 59k points, a gold chest (with no drops ><), LOTS of achieves, and 100 Anima. This was fun as shit, and much easier than I thought it was originally. Took some practice, but was manageable with this setup. We can do this. /Endwalloftext.

…and then we got a Militia Barbut with 61k points.

And I forgot to mention we didn't have a top 20 provision-er in our group.

Seems like 60k is the magic number these days. I would love to figure this out and get it down to a science. My fisherman is at your disposal.

I took Sera and Silv and we have it pretty solid. Crafters gotta be on their game with enmity resets, but it is very doable now.

Glad to hear that we have a decent strategy now that some have seen working. Let's schedule some runs lol. Or at the very least text me if I'm not on.

gathering stat at least 70 for DoL is needed in order to 100% obtaining pot

This is really good to know. I'll look into seeing where I am at with this and what I need to make/equip to get there.

Same here, PT. I wasn't getting too many mishandles last time but still enough to annoy.

Shouldn't be too hard since most of the gathering main tools themselves have 60+ gathering by 45. There's also the Explorer's Calot, Raptorskin Jerkin/Culottes, Boarskin Work Gloves. 70 doesn't seem too tough to hit.
