Howdy all! Sorry to necro-bump this thread from November, but I thought it would be a nice place to drop some hot information regarding magitek armor!

The development team is planning to make it possible to obtain magitek armor via a challenging quest related to the Garleans. From what I hear, it will not be something that is easy to obtain!

For those of you interested in customizing your magitek armor, you will be happy to know that the development team is looking into this, but they are heading in the direction where it will not affect stats.

This is pretty exciting if you ask me and I hope you are looking forward to it!

Greetings all,

I'd like to make a follow-up to my previous comment, as well as what was posted on the Lodetsone on 12/16 (Please note that we are working to implement additional payment options around the commencement of billing in early January).

As tonight will bring a close to the free trial period for FFXIV, I wanted to give you an update in regards to the new payment method implementation we have been working on. While the new payment method will not be implemented in time for the start of billing tonight, I want to let you know that we are nearing the end of the implementation phase and will be moving on to QA for it soon. While I can’t offer a concrete date for its release, I will keep you all as up to date as possible as we work on implementing this new payment method.Bayohne

What additional payment options can they possible add? Are we talking like PayPal options or is it other lengths of pre-pay?

The thread was asking about using PayPal so yeah I imagine so. Though that UltimatePay option they added isn't bad, they sell those cards at Best Buy and 7-11.

The community team in Japan were able to answer a few crafting recipe questions as well as obtain information that will answer some of the questions brought up in this thread.

I’d like to see more equipment with Control +.
There is a lack of crafter gear at level 30 that increases the stats for control.

It’d be nice if you could fill in the gaps in levels.

First, in patch 1.21 we will be editing the remaining accessories, medicine, and food item recipes. Following patch 1.22, which will finish off the recipe fixes, we will be looking at crafting/equipment and be adding recipes to the levels that are lacking.

Once we have added recipes for levels that are lacking and establish the balance between the levels and the recipes, we are planning to eliminate the old recipes.

There was actually just recently a similar request on the Japanese forums, which got a response

We can already have gear repaired while it is equipped, but it would be really great if we could designate something like, “repair when damage is xx%.”
With the current system, I am having repairs done even at 99% and while I would like to keep playing while my request is up, getting repairs after just one fight is impractical.

Though it would be after patch 1.22, we are looking into implementing this type of setting. Also, while on this topic, we are also looking into making it possible to set repair requests by equipment slot. However, we cannot promise any specific timing just yet.

This is going to be nice. Having to use the "critical success/fail" or "fail to victory" methods of dealing with unstable elements works, but it gets old fast.

Hrm… Armorsmiths and Carpenters should get their crafting on as much as possible if they still want to rank up cheaply then.

Hey gang, as I'm sure some of you are aware, we're already preparing the 3rd player survey. Yoshida said that he plans on conducting surveys after this as needed, too. Also keep in mind that we're constantly gathering feedback and data from the forums (and elsewhere) and passing them along to the dev. team. Hopefully this puts your minds at ease! ;)Bayohne


Howdy!

I sent your feedback about casting animations to the development team and they were happy to give a response.

They mentioned that to start out, they would be separating the casting animations into healing-type magic and attack-type magic, and they are also looking into changing animations for specific spells.

Race-wise, they have not been looking into different casting animations, but said that if there seems to be a high demand for this that they would look into it as they explore whether it is physically possible from a memory standpoint.
