I agree that we shouldn't just be content with everything thrown at us, I just personally didn't see a big problem with it. The only times they've changed their mind on how something is done is when it was pretty much a unanimous backlash from all communities, like with the colors = stats thing. I also promote the difference between constructive criticism and complaining.

The game has gotten better due to feedback and constructive criticism. The complaining and ignorant dev-bashing, like what Diji was doing, is what pisses me off and doesn't really help anyone. I mean there's a difference between "This shit's broken, I think this would fix it" and "This shit's broken, SE is fucking useless and the devs fucked up".

At any rate, there's a multitude of ways this could end up. All we mostly know is the acquisition of this note from Rowena (25k seal key item + 3 different Primal seals). Anything after that is speculation.

I'm hearing valid points from all 3 of you.

Admittedly, I wasn't the least bit excited about Hamlet Defense when it was first released and I gave it a try and I could certainly do without it. I've only done a couple sessions with LS mates, many of which were as Fisherman. It's not a very exciting event and the rewards are nonexistant. It's little more than something to do while we shoot the poo in Mumble and, if it's not required for AF, I likely won't be doing the shit at all unless asked to come along and I'll just buy some Militia Pliers.

If it is required and the AF is very much worth the trouble, then I'll suck it up and do it. I feel I must reiterate that the AF weapons better be sack to the spackle, ridiculously good (upgraded or otherwise). It would 100% be SE shoving this optional bull pucky down my throat with no regard for the fact that it sucks one from the back. Grinds are done grudgingly, but the rewards are what gets you through it. It's like telling yourself it will all be over soon when you find yourself topless in some dude's backseat behind the Walmart doing what you said you'd do for those tickets on Craigslist. Just tuck it and get it over with.

No tickets, no touch. My body is a temple, SE. A plundered, filthy brown temple, but a temple nonetheless.

The drop rates in this game are garbage, but it's not impossible. The sad truth is that it likely won't get much better until 2.0 is released and SE can get more subscribers to help keep this sea bitch afloat.

One thing that can be said for instances is that it allows people to actually have a fair chance at some gear, provided the drop system is in place for that to actually happen. Remember HNMs in XI? Camp for 22 hours to stand in a room and hope that some other shell's claim bot wasn't faster than yours. Even then, there was no guarantee for drops and you were back in another 22 hours for more punishment.

Dynamis was a beloved event for many of us based on recent conversations. Make a large scale instance akin to Dynamis and I believe that it would assuage many of people's unrest with this game. The possibility for multiple, varied drops where everyone benefits from just being there. This small scale instanced time sink methodology is only leading to discontent, frustration, and the inevitable exclusion that comes with only being able to include a few people in each run. Don't even get me started on speed runs…

Thus concludes my rant. That was fun, huh?
