Having multiple people switch with others for roles would go a long way in staving off boredom / wallet crashing, but that's only if more people are willing to switch around.
I will need to look into spell rotations and I still need to make my mob resistance cheat sheet
The rotation is pretty simple. If you need to conserve mana, Thunder > Excruciate (when it is off cooldown) > Dark Seal > Thundara > Parsimony > Thundaga (if Excruciate is up) > Thunder > Thundara > Wait 7 seconds > Thunder > Thundara > Wait 7 seconds > Thunder > Thundara > Repeat. Use Parsimony when it's off cooldown, Necrogenesis when you need to heal and Thunder > Thundara > Convert > Burst (If you can get it of before a WHM heals you) > Second Wind/Necrogenesis if you need health. If you are under a strict time limit and your group cuts it close as it is, such as during Garuda, casting Thundaga when it is up is usually a good thing to do as well. Using Burst without low health (Or even with it. It's a pretty lackluster ability) is comparable to Thundaga, so that is something to keep in mind should Thundaga and Convert be cooling down and you need a big burst of damage. If you have mana to burn, and you usually don't, sneaking a Blizzard in between Thunder > Thundara combos can really pad your numbers. If you have a good tank, only use Freeze when you absolutely have to (Red, hopefully not flashing) since the cast time is so long and it is not terribly mana efficient. This wall of text might seem complex due to length, but it is far less complicated to excel at than any of other classes.
As far as mob resistances/weaknesses on bosses, unless you are really poorly geared (in which case only sometimes the Fire line does more damage for less efficiency) always cast the Thunder line. The only exception really is the Golem boss at the end of Turtleback.
I am all for it. Like Sera said, when do you think you wil wanna do it? I am up for learning any of the runs on whatever job I am needed to be on. I am hoping to get drg 50 this weekend! I am best geared and experienced on whm, but willing to learn whatever if i need too.
I'd like to jump in to the mix when there is room; I've got BLM, MNK, WAR, and BRD to add to the mix. Now that I will have a respectable rig, I would like to get shot down to a science.
MNK, BLM, and WAR are the best geared. (MNK and BLM best experienced) But, I would like to them all trained for when they get geared to higher teirs.
