Hey guys. I recently bought fraps and am looking to get better at capturing and editing video game footage. I am completely new at this and my video quality is really bad. I am trying to find the best settings to render under. I mean this vid makes it look like a play on a Sega Genesis. Yeah it's that bad.

For anyone whose eyes don't bleed at watching poor quality badly captured video game footage I frapsed an Ifrit run feel free to watch it. This was also my first time putting music to a video. I was interested in how it would sound after the render and if that would change the quality.

The two songs used are Burn by the Cure. This song always pops in my head often when running Ifrit for obvious reasons lol. The second song used is Desengage the Simulator by CKY.

Umm and I am sorry I have the camera pointed down too far a lot of the time. I am always terrified my position will be off and get one shot if I don't move fast enough.

***Change the quality to 720p. Even though it doesn't look like 720p it hurts the eyes a little less lol***

Another thing I will have to look into is it doesn't seem to load up really quickly. Not sure what the problem is there. I mean I watch much higher quality videos without having to wait for them to load : / So might play better if you watch it on youtube instead of here and like give it a min to load idk. Yeah, it's kind of lame.

Oh hey. Yeah I went back and reloaded it with different settings to see if I could make it look a little less terribad. I'll edit post above and post a new link there.

It still doesn't look great but the quality is a little better. It also still takes forever to load when switched to higher quality. Without switching quality it is ultra bad >.< Sega Genesis mode.

That was really fun to watch :) helpful too! Now I have a better idea of where to be when I'm on the right side.

Thanks for checking it out guys. I had a lot of fun with that Ifrit run because things got kind of hectic but we still pulled it off.

@Ty Yeah you are pretty beast over there! I really like healing our tanks. You all stay alive really well. Balon, Berg, you and Neimi too. She wasn't difficult to heal on Ifrit either and she like just dinged her war 50 recently.

When I watched it I couldn't for the life of me remember why I seemed to refuse to put Regen on Melphion or Yuri.I usually always try to keep it up on melee. I must have been having a mini stroke or something.

Did you guys see my Benediction for 128hp before raising Yuri? I'm so pro! Another mistake I noticed is I should have Sacred Prism + Regen when Yuri and Melphion were close to me working on that nail instead of trying to hit them with Stoneskin. Stoneskin cast is just too slow.

I am going to try and get a copy of Sony Vegas for better editing. Sarina said she knows of some software that can convert videos to a better format so they render better.

Yeah! Good video! Sera is right, I have a better idea of where to stand on the right side now, so maybe sometime I will venture out of the box and move to the other side, so I will know both spots. Thanks Niko!!
