So now that we have more info on Hamlet defense, I'm going to put some info together here for reference.
Hamlet Defense Basics:
Hamlet defense is broken up into two phases, a preparation phase and a combat phase.
Supply Rating
The Hamlets start at a Supply Rating of 0 when the Preparation phase starts. Players may contribute to supplying the Hamlet during the Preparation phase to raise this rating. The current maximum Supply Rating is 2. The Supply Rating affects the strength of the Beastmen attacks, as well as the rewards during the Defense phase.
Preparation Phase
The point of the Preparation phase is to, as the name implies, prepare for the impending battle. During this phase players can raise the Supply Rating of the Hamlet.
Duration: 50 hours.
DoW/M can participate in Caravan escort mission
DoL can provide specific gathered items to help supply the Hamlet.
DoH can craft equipment and supplies to support the Hamlet.
Defense Phase
During the Defense phase, players will have to stave off attacks from the Beastmen tribes. The main objective is to protect the four supply carts from harm. If they are all destroyed then the defense has failed.
Duration: 25 hours.
DoW/M will be able to engage in direct combat with the enemies.
DoL will be able to collect items that can be delivered to the quartermaster to inflict enfeebling statuses upon the enemy forces.
DoH will be able to use materials found within the Hamlet to craft equipment which, when delivered to the quatermaster, provides enhancement effects to the militia NPCs.
Potion Effects
3 of each: Enmity reset 3 red: HP down 3 blue: Atk down 3 green: Sleep
Cart Effects:
Food: If destroyed, decreased defense and evasion Armor: If destroyed, enemies get enhanced magic potency Medical: If destroyed, decreased magic defense and evasion. Weapon: If destroyed, enemies get enhanced attack.
Delivering items requested by the hamlet militia quartermaster, or any materia-enhanced weapon or piece of gear, will not only contribute to the hamlet’s supply rating, but will also earn you an anima boost based on the type of item donated.Patchnotes
Anima would be less of a concern for me if the people who actually had large amounts of it would actually use it, instead of leeching the anima of folks who barely have any.
One of the rewards will be gil for sure. On the patch notes there's a picture of a panel showing a sample of the totals, and it was adding up to like 12k. For some reason I don't think that's 12k seals lol.
I highly doubt it's going to be 12k seals. That would require like…5 successful hamlet defenses to cap out GC ranks but wouldn't it be sweet. I just kind of took them as points. Not sure what those points will translate to, though. Would be interesting to know.
That being said, I would definitely be interested in doing a caravan escort for seals. Storm Babies, ho!
The total points was 12k, that could transfer over to seals after some conversions. It could also be gil. The items themselves could also simply be given to us as a reward.
It does say that the Supply Rating of the Hamlet before the Defense phase affects the rewards in the Defense phase.
