We've known what the axe was going to look like since October lol. I like it, I'll be getting it along with the darksteel one.

Also someone on the official forums compared the Garuda fists to Z-Gok claws lol. Now I can't unsee it, but that does not deter me from wanting them.

I agree with you Sera that bow is pretty incredible and the blm staff too. The whm weapon is kind of okay to me. It's like a feathery french tickler or something. I can be okay with that I guess x]
I really like all of the Garuda weapons. I guess I don't really hate any of them. I don't hate any of the crafted weapons with though. SE has great artists.

It's some Guildworks thing. Ever since they changed something, some perfectly fine links have completely stopped working for some reason.

I do kind of hope that the Pugilist/Monk weapon designer(s) start working on some better stuff though.

Garuda Talons are amazing, don't get me wrong. But I mean Ifrit's Claws are pretty ugly, Moogle fists are joke weapons (which I love btw), Darksteel fists are just huge blocks. They really couldn't think of anything else? I mean off the top of my head I can think of claws with retractable blades, Cesti which expand upon unsheathing, a Katar style weapon which folds out, a Cesti with hidden spikes, the list goes on.

As an aspiring game dev, if an artist came to me with that idea for a hand-to-hand weapon I'd probably think it was a joke. No way would that idea get the green light unless it was a joke weapon.

I personally love weapons that look stupid for some reason. The cement blocks crack me up! But you are right. It doesn't seem like they spent a lot of time thinking about it or making it.

I mean I love joke weapons, I'll collect all of them because they're great. However this Darksteel set doesn't seem to be a joke weapon set, the fists are the odd man out here. They are, mostly ,serious whereas the Moogle set was pretty much all kind of joke/cute weapons. One could argue the lance also seems like a joke weapon but it's a slightly more serious version of the Mogfork IMO.
