So now that Divine Veil blocks all physical damage from the front along with reduced cooldown timers on other skills. Is Paladin viable?

No, the best change is the enimty and reduced cool down plus increased dmg of spirits within, testing is needed i say me and arcell have a paladin/warrior Ifrit tank off.

I don't think that the proposed changes are sufficient to end the tyranny of the Warrior.

I propose a contest on something a little less deadly, Great Buffalo perhaps.

Guess I'll go Paladin since you've got Warrior as your main.

Job v Job Rules:

-Highest level available AF to be used.

-Weapons of comparable scale to be used (in this case, both Ifrit).

-No accessories.

-Tanks will start at a set distance from the target and start after a /countdown is finished.

-All available skills may be utilized.

-Whoever has established hate at the end of the fight wins.

-No Black Mages allowed.

Player v Player Rules:

-No equipment restrictions of any kind.

Tanks will start at a set distance from the target and start after a /countdown is finished.

-Whoever has established hate at the end of the fight wins.

-No Black Mages allowed.

Sound good?

No I meant as entrants :p Black Mages can be present in the DD party. You jerks generate way too much enmity, you'd win if you survived lol.

This sounds epic. I have to at least be in mumble when this goes down.

Found this:

http://kanican.livejournal.com/55915.html

The most important bit though:

(1) Adding DEF produces a linear decrease in damage.
(2) This linear decrease in damage due to DEF is only affected by dLVL, and not mob stats.
(3) VIT and DEF appear to do the exact same thing for physical damage at a simple ~2:3 DEF:VIT ratio.

It has something to do with mob stats but only in that, it starts at a certain point based on mob stats and decreases at a set rate based on dlvl. What the fucking fuck SE?

The Ifrit section is especially important for endgame lol.

Essentially it seems if the defense calculations are not revised, for endgame content HP will always be king and because of that Warrior will always be the best. That's terribly disconcerting.
