Gonna just post/discuss E3 stuff here pretty much. Better than spamming the site feed with every big announcement :p
So seems like Nintendo's up first with some early announcements and discussion about the Wii-U. After watching these videos, I'll admit that the Wii-U looks like it has a lot of promise but I'd still probably wait until after launch to even consider it.
This one's a little boring but it's the start. Shows off some interesting little features the Wii-U has like being able to function as a universal TV remote as well. Shows some of the unique game ideas they have which are pretty cool IMO.
This one is hilarious in how cheesy the little skit they show is. Shows more of the new online functionality which is surprisingly catching up with everyone else lol.
More about MiiVerse and whatnot, still pretty interesting. The video functions they talk about mean well but could be used for so much trolling. I'm thinking my "Not as stupid as originally thought" award would go to the Wii-U this year, though it's still too early to say.
Coll shtuff! Following traditionalism, I would buy the Wii-U to continue my flawless console ownership collection (minus the godawful X'd box thing), but I rarely play my Wii as it is :/
Side note: XIVPads is following SE's booth tomorrow-the 7th and posting realtime updates for FFXIV
I feel like at this point I would consider getting the Wii-U at some point but I have to see how it actually performs. I got the Wii at launch and it didn't live up to any expectations lol.
I watched that Nintendo feed when it first played, though I got bored and kind of tuned out the very end. It's like a really boring board meeting. He didn't even finish or prove some of the points he was trying to make. Like the very first thing when they showed a stale picture of a family enjoying their handhelds together, faces buried in them. The point was that current systems (Granted, they were showing portables which WiiU is not. WTF?) take people away from their family/friends and the WiiU is supposed to change all that. How? By making a controller that you want to bury your face in. Sure they showed a bunch of tech demos that will probably come free with the system that will play a little different than their current system, like Golf and Baseball, but the interaction with your family/friends will be exactly the same. Look at big screen, use controller to play, talk about it during/after. And don't get me started on their cheesy skit that showed off the power of "chatrooms" as if it was something new and different.
Yeah, this sort of thing doesn't matter to the system itself. But it does make me wonder why Nintendo still seems to think that people aren't going to pay attention to what they are actually saying. While I probably will buy the one once the second batch comes out because I am addicted to consoles, this video did not make me excited for it.
I didn't think anyone really gave a shit about E3 anymore. If you guys are ever in the area I can get you tickets to E3 no problem. It's actually really lame to be honest. Its PACKED with people and there is NO beer garden. Did I mention there is no beer garden? You basically watch a bunch of trailers of games and sometimes you get to play ones you don't care about for 30 seconds a bit longer if you punch the virgin standing behind you and take his lunch money. If this floats your boat and you are in the area next year hit me up.
There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that do not.
