I am level 30 or slightly above with every gathering class. I am usually willing to help but because I hate gathering and feel that my time is better spent raising my crafting skills I will only gather for free for those who are willing to use the materials I gather for the shell.
If you charge shellmates for your services or use the materials I gather for you to sell stuff on the Market, I require payment in some form up front (gil/services) or I will refuse to gather.
